Ahead of the transfer window, Manchester United completes the signing of an exciting young player.

Following a fruitful trial period, Manchester United has officially finalised the signing of teenager Dante Plunkett.

Plunkett, who came to the academy from Aston Villa, now faces the task of advancing in United’s development system in order to be considered for a professional contract.

The kid’s natural position is left-back, and in their penultimate match of the season, he made his debut for United’s Under-18 team, which had won two cups.

Plunkett officially moved to Manchester after impressing United staff during his trial time and playing more than 80 minutes in that match.

Using social media on Sunday night, Plunkett confirmed his transfer to United by posting a picture of himself standing in front of the United Trinity statue outside Old Trafford while wearing a club shirt.

Recruitment has been essential to United’s U18 team’s success this season, as they have defeated rival Manchester City to win both the league and the cup.

In an effort to bolster their youth roster, United frequently signs players from other academies, with the goal of having the greatest academy in the league.

After years of underperformance, United’s academy has had a revival; a major factor in this success has been the recruitment of Nix Cox as head of the academy in December 2019.

Regarding the improvement, Cox recently told the MEN, “I think it’s really simple.” “It’s about having good players, therefore hire wisely, competent coaches who understand the game and their job, and the broader staff who genuinely care about the youth and set the atmosphere.

“After that, it’s staff alignment, which involves ensuring that we’re cohesive throughout all age groups and up to the senior side with the first-team personnel as well.

“Darren Fletcher was present tonight and has contributed more than anybody else to the growth of those players. I give a lot of respect to Travis Binnion since he really designed our programme for the oldest age groups; you’ve seen Adam Lawrence work with this specific group (the U18s).
