Paolo Araujo, the head of scouting for Barcelona, has complimented the Kenpong Football Academy (KFC) administration for offering first-rate facilities to foster the growth of young football players in Ghana.

During the first day of his three-day journey to Ghana, Mr. Araujo made this observation.

Speaking to KFC employees and players in Winneba, he referred to the players as a privileged bunch since they were raised in modern facilities essential for the growth of football potential.

“Kenpong Football Academy has some of the best facilities in Africa,” he said.

The amenities at the Academy, which include a meeting room, a gym, changing rooms, a swimming pool, a block of dorms, an office block complex, a dining hall and adjourning kitchen, a water production factory, a fishing pond, a mini-forest for rest and relaxation, and a natural grass playing ground, impressed him.

At Kenpong Football Academy’s invitation, Mr. Paolo Araujo is in Ghana.

This visit is a follow-up to a high-ranking group from Kenpong Academy’s earlier visit to FC Barcelona. Following his observation of an academy training session, FC Barcelona’s Director of Scouting gave a motivational speech to the players.

He emphasised that discipline, diligence, and humility are the three main traits that every athlete in the programme is supposed to possess. Throughout their time at the academy, he counselled the young men to make every effort to uphold the aforementioned beliefs. He presented the awe inspiring and motivational narrative of  captain of the Under-17 national football team of Mali Ibrahim Diarra, who was recently recruited by FC Barcelona. He stated that every youngster in the academy need to strive to follow in the footsteps of the young Malian who, in the Under-17 World Cup in Indonesia in 2023, was statistically the best player.
